“If La Fontaine were told to me…”

Illustrated and musical conference.

This original conference aims to draw from the work of the fabulist both his portrait and the view he had on his contemporaries – as if he had written in the style of Montaigne “I am myself the matter from my book! ".

​

If there is anyone who has served nature well, it is La Fontaine, while references to nature are only exceptionally found in 17th century literature.

​

The originality of this meeting will essentially lie in the musical accompaniment which will be a way of doubly highlighting the beauty of the fables.

 

The musician, Patrick RUDANT, will highlight with his improvisations – on the baroque transverse flute – the infinite variety of tones and rhythms of Lafontainian verse. For this, a choice of 15 significant fables was made.
